Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Barnevakten app ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to the terms, you must not use the App.
Service Description
Barnevakten helps families coordinate babysitting. The App allows you to:
- Create and manage family groups
- Publish and accept babysitting assignments
- Communicate with group members via chat
- Receive notifications about assignments and messages
User Accounts
To use the App, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Keeping your login credentials secure
- All activity under your account
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Use the App for unlawful purposes
- Share offensive, threatening, or harmful content
- Attempt unauthorized access to other accounts
- Misuse the App in ways that may harm other users
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users
- Share spam, fraud, or misleading information
- Create fake profiles or impersonate others
User Reporting
We want Barnevakten to be a safe place for everyone. You can report users who violate our rules:
- How to report: Go to the user profile, or press and hold a message to report
- Report reasons: Inappropriate content, harassment, spam, fake profile, inappropriate images, or other
- Review process: All reports are reviewed by our team
- Anonymity: Reported users do not see who reported them
Moderation and Consequences
If rules are violated, we may take one or more of these actions:
- Warning: You receive a push warning that behavior must change
- Content removal: Messages or images that violate rules may be removed
- Suspension: Temporary suspension from the app (typically 7 days)
- Permanent ban: For severe or repeated violations, the account can be permanently blocked
You will be notified by push notification if your account is suspended or banned. During suspension, you cannot sign in or use the app.
Subscriptions and Payments
Barnevakten PRO is an optional subscription that removes ads and unlocks extra features.
- Pricing: NOK 19/month or NOK 149/year
- Payment: Payments are processed through Apple App Store
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings - Apple ID - Subscriptions
- Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple policy
Free Version and Ads
The free version of the App includes ads delivered by Google AdMob. Ads help us provide the App for free. You can remove ads by upgrading to PRO.
Advertising-related data processing follows your consent choices in UMP and iOS tracking settings (ATT), where applicable.
Content and Ownership
You retain ownership of content you upload (such as profile images, post images, and messages). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store and display it to relevant users in your family group.
- Image storage: Images are stored privately and encrypted with our provider (Supabase), and made available only to authorized group members through time-limited links.
- Deletion: Images are deleted when you delete your account or remove them from the app.
- Responsibility: You are responsible for not uploading content that violates privacy, copyright, or law.
Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect and use your data.
Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the App will be error-free or always available. We are not liable for:
- Loss or damage resulting from use of the App
- Content shared by other users
- Actions by babysitters coordinated through the App
You are responsible for verifying the suitability of persons you engage for babysitting.
Push Notifications and Service Communication
By using the App, you agree to receive push notifications. These may include:
- Activity notifications: New messages, assignments, and group invitations
- Moderation notifications: Warnings, suspensions, or bans
- Service notifications: Important information about the app, updates, or policy changes
You can disable push notifications in iOS Settings, but this may affect your experience.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Changes to the Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.

Governing Law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes are subject to Norwegian courts.
